NEW YORK CITY–Mitchell W. Salmon has joined the retail and office leasing team at Lee & Associates NYC, as executive managing director. In addition to leasing, Salmon will participate in asset management and acquisitions for Lee NYC and its affiliates.
Previously, he was the managing director at Garrison Investment Group, with $4 billion in retail assets under management. At Garrison, Salmon developed strategic plans for the firm’s national retail platform, increasing it to more than 9.2 million square feet, across 17 states.
“Mitchell’s career experience brings to Lee NYC new insights in communicating with institutional landlords throughout the New York metropolitan area.” says Joel Herskowitz, COO of Lee NYC. “Mitch has leased and developed malls and power centers across the US and led the leasing and retail reimagining at Parkchester in the Bronx. He can manage and lease projects of any scale across a broad variety of asset types and we’re thrilled to have him join our NYC office.”
Salmon has worked across several asset classes. He has supervised internal teams and more than 100 employees, on-site property staff, and vendors including leasing, management, construction, legal, marketing and municipal parties. At Garrison, he oversaw $44 million in ground-up construction for the redevelopment of 343,000 square feet of retail space across the country.
Earlier in his career, Salmon worked for 15 years at Mall Properties, Inc. (now Olshan Properties). This included leasing and developing the retail and commercial space at the Parkchester Apartments in the Bronx, NY. He was also responsible for 6.5 million square feet of commercial properties in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia and Louisiana.
Over the years, he has executed transactions with national tenants that include Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, LA Fitness, Crate & Barrel, Lululemon Athletica, Chipotle and Lowe’s Home Improvements. Earlier in his career, Salmon worked as a vice president at Lucille Roberts Health Clubs, Inc., where he developed a fitness brand retail expansion program.
