NEW YORK CITY—Romer Debbas—a locally-based boutique law firm specializing in commercial and residential real estate transactions—has brought on veteran corporate and real estate attorney Matthew Simon as a partner.
The industry veteran of more than 20 years will manage the firm’s corporate practice. He has extensive experience handling complex corporate and real estate transactions and creating lucrative strategic opportunities.
Previously, Simon was the co-founding and co-managing partner of Simon, Eisenberg & Baum. SEB was a full service law firm focused on real estate, corporate, trust and estates, litigation and entertainment matters that had offices here as well as in New Jersey, Florida, California and Switzerland.
While at SEB, he specialized in real estate and corporate matters and worked very closely with a substantial family office in managing its business operations on a daily basis. Earlier, Simon was a partner at a boutique law firm and also worked at Epstein, Becker &Green and Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf in their corporate/securities and real estate departments.
During his legal career, Simon represented a real estate family office in a joint major development project in the Meat Packing District. He also organized and structured a start-up corporate branding company that has multiple international offices. In addition, Simon has advised and negotiated various credit facilities on behalf of corporate and real estate clients ranging from $10 million to $200 million.In his new position, Simon will advise domestic and foreign family offices, real estate companies, developers, financial institutions, start-up companies and high net worth individuals on real estate and corporate credit facilities, development projects, acquisitions and dispositions of real property, leases, corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, private placements and joint ventures.
